Oh wait wrong book lol, anyways So this book was a total anticlimactic let down. The battle with Devina was meh. The plot didn't really go anywhere from where it left off the last book.
The two souls left to win were Sissy and Jim and the cross roads that decided the win for both was really lame.
It was like Sissy got mad and was about to Hulk Smash and then didn't Yay she won her battle. Wow that was such a crossroads. The same was true with Jim he was gonna break Devina's mirror because he was mad she hurt Sissy and then he just doesn't and wow he wins too.
The ending felt like it wrapped up way to perfect. Everyone that has Died comes back, everyone in love was still in love, Devina was in hell but she was okay with it and when and if she gets out she doesn't want pay backs for Jim trapping her there.
Nope she just thought I will find a man that loves me. Oh and Ad was healed and could have sex again. Jim and Sissy went to heaven reunited with his mom and lived HEA The End.
Yup total let down. I am glad I read it though just in case JR Ward brings Devina to the BDB world. I am also glad I am done with this series it wasn't the worst but it was just meh all around.
View all 24 comments. My honest reaction to this is that I didn't want to say goodbye, especially to Jim. The last chapter?
THE LAST CHAPTER. Don't judge me. The ending did me in, I wasn't expecting that. It takes a lot to get me to blubber when reading but here I was ready to curl into a ball after finishing it.
Was it predictable? Really poignant bittersweet ending. So happy for Jim! As much as I hate to say goodbye it was a beautiful ending to a wonderful series and once again managed to suck me in from page 1.
Was this the strongest book? No, but even so for a finale it was satisfying enough and had it's moments.
There's something so real, raw and unforgiving about Ward's world building and characters. The relationships, connections and emotions that Ward creates resonate the most with me every time and come across so infallible.
Jim and Sissy Jim and Sissy are quite the opposites yet managed to fit so well. I wasn't expecting to like them as much as I did until I read Possession.
Sissy manages to make Jim feel human again so effortlessly and gets him to open up and be vulnerable for the very first time which I liked.
She makes him feel more human than he ever did while alive which is very fitting. Seeing him get flustered and awkward around her was another added bonus.
I liked it because it wasn't overdone or sappy but sweet and sexy. It had me wishing for more of those sweet little moments.
If anything this highlighted just how incredibly lonely Jim's been his entire life, a fact I kept forgetting about while going into every book.
In here it resonated more which is what makes the conclusion more gratifying yet heartbreaking at the same time.
I just wanted to hug him. His dream of what he wanted in life I found very endearing and humbling.
He truly deserves it. These two KILL ME! Eddie always brings the calm presence and reason to both Jim and Adrian and it was very much needed here.
I bitched so much about these 2 not getting their own HEA so I'm just thrilled she left it open like this. I thought this was a little short and abrupt in comparison to the other books.
This is only pages, that's very short for a Ward book and I do think she could have added a little more here and there. I mean everything that needed to happen happened but I couldn't help but feel that the intensity and suspense was missing in some areas like I mentioned earlier.
Everything seemed more rushed than usual, in the other books you don't notice the short timeline at all here it was much more obvious because of the short plot.
And once again because of the short time-frame the romance seemed a little rushed as well. I did think the ILY came a little too quickly, I mean we knew it was coming but I had to take it in with how fast it came about in here, I was expecting a whole lot of foot shuffling.
I would think she could trust and believe Jim given all he went through to bring her back. That still makes no sense to me.
Why rush something that is as vast and detrimental as a war like this? She drove me nuts as always. Every time she goes near Jim I get that unreasonable territorial urge to scream Bitch STOP TOUCHING HIM NOW!
Even when he's being an idiot. I only would tolerate more of her OCD slimy ass if Lash does a real number on her. I can't wait to see her sink her claws in him it will be Jim who?
Ward really knows how to write crazy terrifying psychos when she really puts her mind to it. When it's good, it's fun.
I would have liked more suspense and surprises but eh not bad. Everything I wanted played out one way or another. It's been a pleasure reading this series and I recommend it to all new comers or JR fans in general.

The final book in the Fallen Angels Series…and it so failed to impress me!!!! Everything comes together in this book…all tied up at last….
I really struggled to get through it… This has not my favorite series by JR WARD…that title belongs to the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series….
I really liked J The final book in the Fallen Angels Series…and it so failed to impress me!!!! I really liked Jim Heron, the savior of good, in the first two or three books, but my liking began to wan by the time he became so obsessed with Sissy that nothing else mattered top him….
Even knowing that Devina is totally beyond besotted with him!!!! Totally weird!!! Sissy…she just seemed too young and immature!!!!
I just could not connect with her. The Purgatory thingies….. The big Jim Heron revelation…….. What I loved was Devina!!!!! What a surprise…right????
And here I believed it was her home possessions!!!!! I kind of saw something good under all her evilness!!!!! I would love to see her and Lassiter……getting together!!!!
Her therapist appointments made my day……… and my heart went to her as she cried her eyes out…….. Damn cruel I guess we will not be seeing the end of some of the characters in this series….

I got through the series. I feel like I should be asking someone for a cookie. I don't know why. It's not even that I had a bad time reading the books.
Hell, it's very rare that I read any book series all-in-a-row. Blame it on the back-to-back nose break then flu which kept me in bed, and the "why the hell not, I don't feel like trying to figure out a new world every time I pick up the next book" feeling.
Whil 3. While one could make the point that the Fallen Angels books were far less cheesetastic than their BDB counterparts, by this point, I'm sentimentally attached to the BDB brand of in-your-face cheese.
It's like this weird mix of comforting and off-putting to read a series which mirrors another in so many aspects, yet doesn't give me the similarities that I'm actually looking for.
Either the BDB world should have crossed paths more often, or the Fallen Angels should have been off in some other world completely separate from Caldwell's Iron Mask and detective Jose "has no life outside of his job.
If you haven't read the earlier series books, my comments ahead about some of the main characters might be considered very mild spoilers. Her name was ridiculous though; I will give everyone that.
The ending was as it should have been. Yes, it's sad that view spoiler [Jim won't get to hang out with Adrian and Eddie anymore, but it is what it is.
The series would have been much more drab without her. View all 4 comments. Dec 10, Gavin rated it liked it.
I was a little shocked when I learned that Immortal was to be the final book in the Fallen Angels series because I had always assumed there was going to be seven books to match the seven deadly sins and the seven souls.
I grew a bit more worried when I learned this book was the shortest book in the series so far. It left me wondering if perhaps J.
Ward had grown bored of the series and just wanted it concluded quickly. The first third of the book did nothing to alleviate my worries.
It was a bi I was a little shocked when I learned that Immortal was to be the final book in the Fallen Angels series because I had always assumed there was going to be seven books to match the seven deadly sins and the seven souls.
It was a bit slow and characters who I usually love like Sissy and Jim were managing to annoy me with their actions.
Even Adrian seemed like a shadow of his former self. Luckily about halfway through things started to improve and we got an interesting plot twist that provided an acceptable explanation for the annoying early behavior of some of the main characters.
I was, mostly, happy with how the series concluded. All the loose threads were dealt with. I loved the way things ended for Jim and Sissy.
I was happy enough with the ending for the Arch Angels. I even liked the way things ended for Devina, but do have to admit I was hoping for a different outcome.
The ending for Adrian and Eddie was the most interesting of the bunch as it looks like they might be on their way to the BDB books!
All in all I was a bit disappointed that the final book in the Fallen Angels series was not as good as the previous books, but I still enjoyed the conclusion.
The star of this book was undoubtedly the demon Devina. Who's self deluded antics were hilarious enough to provide laughs even during some of this books dull spots.
Rating: 3. Audio Note: Eric. Dove has done a decent job narrating the whole FA series. View 2 comments. Please note: I didn't accept to read this book.
I declined it because it was the last book in a series. But it was sent home to my anyway and I read it because I am both stubborn and dutiful.
So if you like this book series you will probably don't like this book review. But before you write to me and complain, bear in mind that I have the freedom to express my thoughts to writing down what I thought about the book!
The creator has created a game, in which Jim, a champion from heaven, fights agai Please note: I didn't accept to read this book. The creator has created a game, in which Jim, a champion from heaven, fights against Devina a demon from hell has over souls.
There are 7 souls in the game and whoever gets 4 wins. The winner gets all the souls, living and dead and dominion over heaven and hell.
Perhaps it all the years studying theology that makes my go wtf over the story. Why on earth would the Creator God create a game like this? View all 27 comments.
Oct 17, Jen Davis rated it liked it. This series has been hit and miss for me lately. JR Ward can really wow me with her romances and she shines with the heat factor.
The hero, Jim, has become increasingly annoying, crossing into the TSTL arena. And sadly, this book is all about him This series has been hit and miss for me lately.
And sadly, this book is all about him and the elements that have turned me off in the earlier books, without the balm of a good romance to offset it.
But wait, you may be wondering, how can there be a JR Ward book without romance? Well, there IS a romance of a fashion.
She is a 19 year-old virgin, who lived with her mom and was hoping to get her first car. She was like a child and he was old enough to be her father.
And he has nearly sacrificed the world for her, without ever really even knowing her. I was interested in what was going on with Nigel, Pergatory, and the twists on who the last remaining souls were.
There were a few interesting surprises and a satisfying ending. But if you like Jim or actually wanted him paired with Sissy, this book is for you.
For me, not so much. View all 3 comments. Jan 27, Emily Rose rated it it was amazing Shelves: favorite-books.
I am just stunned at how good this book was! There could not possibly have been a better ending to the Fallen Angels series. Immortal was absolutely perfect in every way and, try as I may, I cannot think of a single thing that could have made it better.
I also can't think of a single thing that I didn't like. I LOVED every single page of it. From the very first page this final showdown between good and evil takes off running and there is never a dull moment from beginning to end.
Here's Wow! Here's just a few things that I loved about Immortal : 1. There aren't any new characters introduced so we get exactly what we've been waiting for with zero distractions.
Jim and Sissy are the two final souls in the game so they are the focus, which is exactly what readers have been waiting for.
Jim himself. He proves to be such a strong character while fighting this war. It's coming to a close and he is completely worn down and feeling defeated.
But then, we get to see him reach deep inside himself and find the strength to carry on, and make sacrifices for the good of others.
I loved how Nigel always refers to him as the Savior. He truly saved to world with his inner strength and loyalty to the cause and his friends.
Eddie and Nigel are brought back to life. I have been wanting Eddie to return ever since he was killed in the 3rd book.
Adrian has just been lost without his best friend and it was absolutely beautiful to see those two reunited. And what's the first thing they do?
Why yes, it's going out to pick up women. Are we sure these guys are angels? It just tugged at your heartstrings. Then, Jim was able to use Nigel to petition the Creator to bring Eddie back as well.
So Jim's sacrfice was able to bring back two very important angels. Devina actually earned some sympathy in Immortal.
I loved loved loved that the devil, Devina, was not only defeated, but that she was truly taught a lesson. She got her heart broken and realized that being evil was extremely lonely.
She actually helped Adrian, Colin, and Sissy get Jim and Nigel out of purgatory after Jim went in to get Nigel.
The scene where Devina realizes that Jim is dead was both disgusting because she was too upset to hold her beautiful appearance and returned to her natural zombie-ish form and also very emotional.
She was truly broken hearted, and for her to mourn Jim was a very eye-opening experience for her. And then, after she helps to bring him back, she has to watch him run into Sissy's arms.
That was sad, too. She learned her lesson way too late. She was still her completely crazy, and evil self for the vast majority of the book, but we do see some significant changes in her.
And not only regarding her feelings for Jim. Turns out that her therapist was the Creator all along and, since she was created by Him, He still loves her.
It was very moving to watch her figure all that out and she finally conquers her OCD by realizing that people are more important than the objects she collects and hoards.
The ending was perfect! Throughout the book we see Sissy upset that she will never get into Heaven.
Even though she was a complete innocent when she was murdered bby Devina, the fact that Devina stole her soul and held it in Hell has contaminated her, and she can't go to Heaven for fear that she might infect the other "residents" with Devina's evil that's inside her.
We also see, throughout the entire series, how much Jim misses his mother. He was chosen by both the good and evil sides because he has both goodness and pure evil within himself.
The only thing that made him choose to fight for the good side was the fact that his mother was in Heaven and he didn't want the devil to have control of her soul.
She has been his inspiration, along with Sissy, the entire time. Through a series of events, Sissy is cleansed of Devina's evil and Jim wins the war, so the Fallen Angels series comes to an end with Jim and Sissy entering Heaven and being met by Jim's mother.
It was such a touching scene and the perfect way to close out the series. I could seriously write a book about everything I loved about Immortal Dog, the storyline about the halos on the souls in the game, the clock-which I never did quite figure out, Nigel and Colin, Eddie and Adrian's next mission involving Lassiter from the Black Dagger Brotherhood series- so we leave knowing we'll get to see them again, learning a bit more about Lassiter's past, etc, ect but I'll stop there.
Needless to say, I recommend this entire series, and this book in particular is definitely being added to my "favorites" shelf.
This was a book where, when I finished reading the last page, I immediately went back to page one and started it all over again.
It doesn't get better then that. View 1 comment. Ward has tied everything up nicely. Sadly it fell flat to me, it was good but not as great as I was hoping it would be and thought it could be in my opinion.
It just felt sort of anti-climatic to me. And I just have to say I think my lovely friend Karla would have been screaming at her kindle with all the products, name brands, and labels dropped in this book….
I normally don't mind her shout outs but it was rather excessive. Not a bad read, but I had hoped for so much more as a series ending.
View all 8 comments. Jun 13, Kayla rated it it was ok. This book was a mess. Everyone's voice has gotten lost due to all the slang. It's too much. Not everyone has to talk like that.
Devina is still my favorite. I loved the therapy sessions and it finally hit me half way through what that was.
I really liked it. I still can't stand Jim. A few redeeming actions but mostly just an arrogant obsessive asshole. Yes I guess the entire world should go up in flames all b This book was a mess.
Yes I guess the entire world should go up in flames all because of one barely legal girl that Jim wants to bang. Just one example of how ridiculous this book was.
It was also very clear that people had problems with the hook up in the past because JR Ward starts off very early in trying to convince us that she is now a "woman".
It was just days in the wall but it felt like centuries Nice try but I still am not buying it. The premise of the story from the beginning was a bit weak but it's fiction so I really tried to buy into it.
There were just too many holes, too many things that didn't make sense about it all. I'm glad it' over and I imagine she is too. It doesn't really feel like a series that even the author is too proud of.
I feel like she got lost in it toward the end and wrapped it up a book early just to get out. Anyways the only good thing that I was happy about was the mention of Lassiter.
Now that might be fun Jan 01, Raine Miller rated it it was amazing. JR Ward never ceases to astound me in her ability to create the worlds in which her characters live.
Immortal was my favorite book in the Fallen Angels series and a perfect fitting end to the plots and twists of the epic war between good and evil.
I loved how the "souls" played out one by one until the last, and the growth of Jim and Devina throughout the books, as well as the supporting cast.
My heart was totally content by the end of this book. Besides a kickass HEA, JR Ward can also write a villain better than any author I've read.
The bad guys or gals are done so well you can't help but become attached and invested. I have a feeling we haven't heard the last from our OCD, therapy-addicted, Louboutin-wearing villainess just yet.
At least I hope not. Jan 28, Francesca the Fierce Under the Covers Book Blog rated it it was amazing Shelves: genre-urban-fantasy , read-audio-books , books-read It wasn't perfect.
It wasn't as intense. But it was a great story, with unexpected twists and a sweet ending! I can't believe its over : I'm going to miss these characters so much, although I think a couple of them may end up in BDB, or so I hope.
I loved the ending of this series. Ward did a fantastic job tying everything up perfectly, but not too perfect which made it, well, perfect.

When I first saw this: FINALLY! There is a cover which looks oh so frikin' cool! And a short short short blurb " I HOPE SO I HOPE SO And I read on, but it didn't really tell us anything I mean c'mon!
It doesn't even confirm whose book it is. It would be nice to find out if our hopes have come true IF ITS JIM THEN HE BET EDIT: It was sooo good!
IF ITS JIM THEN HE BETTER END UP WITH SISSY. I will scream bloody murder of they don't end up together And then I reached the end where it said " I thought there would be seven books and then I scrolled down even more OCTOBER FRIGGIN' OCTOBER WHY oh why are the books I so badly want to read come out in October, which is a few hundred months away??
I truly honestly cannot wait for this But I'm kind of disappointed as well because I wanted Adrian to have his own book.
Oh well, I hope he gets an HEA in this book too then :D It's quite sad though, since I really liked this series and am sad to see it end so quickly, even if it was meant to be that way Source: I received a finished copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis.
Thanks so much to Piatkus and Little, Brown Book Group! This was a good end to the series, and I liked how everything came together.
I liked Sissy in this book, she seemed to have grown so much since the last book, and she finally started to come across as a woman rather than a girl, which made a big difference!
The storyline in this was good. I liked how the storylines came together, I liked who the final two souls were even if I had kind-of predicted it , and I liked the way the storyline developed.
I did think that some crazy things happened in this book, but it all worked out okay! Wards other work, but they were still good ; I have to say that I much preferred the relationship between Jim and Sissy in this book compared to the previous book.
The end to this was good, and I thought the author had done a really good job of tying off those loose ends in a satisfying and believable way, making this a great end to the series.
Overall; good end to the series! Oct 12, Melinda rated it it was ok. I was so frustrated all the way through this book. I am glad the series is over because the last two books were more aggravating than enjoyable.
If you follow the series, you know that Heaven and Hell made a deal because someone got bored and put seven human souls into play to see if Team Good or Team Evil can win them.
The team that gets four wins first wins everything. Deutsch-Englisch-Übersetzung für: ward. Login Registrieren.
